Nba rundown: Friday 02/21
By Ethan Tabor
What to expect
We will provide a basic rundown of the slate each day rather it’s in article, podcast or video form. The rundown will include games and spreads that day with correlated matchups, We will have a write up for specific players that we see advantages or disadvantages to having in your lineup, and we will then finish the rundown by giving you the top options at each position. The goal here is to not just give the best plays to win money but to teach you how to construct winning lineups on your own to make DFS a profitable game rather than a gamble. This article will be posted each day, at least an hour and a half before lineup lock. If the days slate starts at 7pm EST then you can expect the rundown posted no later than 5:30pm. Follow us on twitter to keep updated on the inevitable injury updates and how that will effect your lineups after this article is posted. https://twitter.com/Money_LineDFS
Notes from yesterday
Overall not a bad slate. If you had shares of Bam Adebayo then you were in good shape. Embiid rocked as we all expected and was owned by everyone, Harden did his thing in limited minutes since they won by a million, and unfortunately De’Aaron Fox laid an egg. Realistically he only fell a few points short of value but it’s hard to anticipate Harrison Barnes going off the way he did and eating up 20 shot attempts. Want all of you to keep in mind that things change after the article is posted and that could change the entire outlook. When Simmons was ruled out Embiid became a must play, Tobias jumped to the top at the SF position, and lots of other things factor in to your lineup build when value opens up like it did. I suggest following us on Twitter to see how these updates change the slate. https://twitter.com/Money_LineDFS
Today’s Slate
We have a loaded 9 game slate today as the nba gets back into full swing after the all star break. There’s a lot to cover so let’s dive in.
Top Plays
Lebron James- last night i wrote up DeAaron Fox because I love guards against Memphis. Same case here because Lebron handles the ball when he’s on the court and Memphis gives up higher than average assists and rebounds to starting guards. I don’t see issues with lebron paying off at this price on either site in an elite matchup. Grizz are coming on a back to back so this could be at risk of a blowout.
Hassan Whiteside- fanduel somehow had this guy priced at 8,500. Don’t get cute over there, just take this discount and play the chalk just like Embiid last night. The Trail Blazers are without Damian Lilliard tonight and that opens up a ton of shot attempts and usage and around. I expect Whiteside to be popular but I also expect even more popularity for McCollum. I prefer Whiteside if I’m only playing one person on this team because Jrue Holiday is a great defender.
Jaylen Brown- pretty simple here, Minnesota fucking stinks and Jaylens price is fucking criminal. I love the pace of play in this game for a guy like Brown. Fire him up.
Serge Ibaka- No Marc Gasol tonight and Ibaka averages over 30FP when that’s the case. He’s $6,600 on FD and 6,500 on DK so he should be a great value play in a great matchup.
